一群人观看《梵高传》时，投影绚烂的光线照射下升腾起的人间烟火和被反复提及的梵高及其人生，构成一幅和谐、奇异的画面。影片里“艺术”时常跳脱生活，但更多时候还是“生活”扼住“艺术”的高飞。借赵小勇个性表达和生活困境的对立，通过“寻梦”和“朝圣”的故事主题，直面一个普通画工的精神核心。
